A Look Back At the Beginning: Our First Logo

As we began our 45th Anniversary this year with a refreshed brand, we wanted to take a quick look back to our roots and share the firm's first logo.

In 1970, Jack Daft and Fred Walker, who were landscape architects, formed the initial company, Jack Daft & Associates, Inc. Tom McCune, also a landscape architect, joined the firm that year and Jack Daft was elected a Chairman of the Board. In recognition of the contributions by Fred Walker and Tom McCune, the company changed it's name to Daft-McCune-Walker, Inc. in 1972. The firm provided planning and design services throughout Maryland and the Mid-Atlantic region.

The three trees represent the three original owners.
